The FACCC Media Guide is a valuable resource
that gives tips and examples on letters to the editor, guest editorials,
talking with reporters, media campaigns, and includes community college
facts.
FACCC members may request a FREE copy.
Nonmember price: $5. Contact the Communications Director
at FACCC or info@faccc.org. Include your full name, and mention
whether you'd like FACCC to bring a media relations workshop to your
college. If you're not sure FACCC has your current home mailing address,
include it in your request.
The media guide made its debut at the 2000 FACCC
Conference sponsored by Hyundai Motor America during the seminar "Making
Headlines: Getting Faculty Issues Into the News." It featured Mark
Wallace, public relations director for Pasadena City College and Larry
Allison, editor of the editorial pages for the Long Beach Press-Telegram.
