Founded in 1953 by a group of Long Beach City College faculty members, the Faculty Association of California Community Colleges (FACCC) was originally named the California Junior College Faculty Council (CJCFC).
Since Prop 13 moved the bulk of funding control (and, therefore, power) to the state Legislature, FACCC's main office is located in Sacramento, where its president, board of governors, volunteers, lobbyists and other professional staff work hard to represent the faculty voice.
