I am currently serving on FACCC Board of Governors as the Governor at Large. I have served on FACCC retirement committee for several years and currently serving on Education Institute Policy Committee.  I was recently appointed to STRS Part-time Retirement Task Force by California Community College Independents.

What are your goals in seeking FACCC office?

I am seeking re-election to the Board of Governors to continue my work of representing faculty at both the state and local level.  In the past year I was elected President of the Santa Monica College Faculty Association after serving for five years as the SMCFA’s Chief Negotiator and negotiating two contracts.  I brought my local knowledge and experience to the FACCC Board two years ago and I look forward to keep working on important faculty issues at the state level.  Despite the state budget outlook, I will advocate for the best funding possible, finding ways to improve 75/25 and to increase full time faculty hiring, reasonable accreditation standards and procedures, and for our part-time colleagues on reemployment rights, equity, and benefits.  I ask for your support and for all the faculty to work together to support each other.
