Local Experience:
Taught full-time 49 years, 40 at Community College level. President of the Academic Senate, Los Angeles City College, 1976. Life-long faculty/teacher activist: Represented LACC on Negotiating Team preceding Collective Bargaining in Los Angeles Community College District, early 1970’s; Charter member, almost 30 years Executive Board Representative for City and Pierce College, respectively, in Los Angeles College Faculty Guild, 1970-present; Steering Committee and Mentor for Project MATCH, LACCD award-winning Mentoring Program, 1998-present; Chair, Political Science/Economics/Criminal Justice/Law/Chicano Studies Department, LA Pierce College, 1998-2007
Statewide Experience:
Active participant in California Federation of Teachers as convention delegate for at least 15 years, delegate to American Federation of Teachers National Convention twice, and was on Board of Directors of Community College Social Science Quarterly during early 1970’s.

What are your goals in seeking FACCC office?
First and foremost I dedicate myself to preserving and protecting the hard-fought struggles teachers have endured for recognition as professionals. We must continually remind ourselves and the public of our devoted efforts to students and our richly deserved retirement benefits.
