Welcome to the FACCC Part-time website!
As Board Governors and part-time faculy members, we’re proud of all that FACCC does to benefit part-time faculty across the state. While many challenges still exist—particularly in this era of tight budgets—FACCC continues to find ways to improve our working conditions. Recent successes include the passage of AB 381 (Block), which allows greater access for part-time faculty to participate in State Disability Insurance.
FACCC works closely with the Employment Development Department (EDD) and the California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS) to allow part-timers to access available benefits. Likewise, FACCC joins with other organizations in protecting community colleges.
It is our hope this webpage will function as a resource site for your use and benefit. Throughout the year, we’ll update this page with pertinent information on the state budget, legislation, and FACCC events. We encourage you to regularly visit the FACCC calendar for upcoming events information, such as the Advocacy & Policy Conference (February 28-March 1) and the annual FACCC EI Part-Time Symposium.
We also ask that you become a member of FACCC.
It’s very easy to do, and costs only $5.00 a month (on a 10-month basis). As a member, you’ll receive our award-winning publications, get discounts on conference registrations, vote in FACCC elections, and qualifies you to run for the FACCC Board.
We also encourage you to consider volunteering on a FACCC committee—there are seats available for part-time faculty on ALL FACCC committees. Contact FACCC Membership Director Bryan Ha to request a “Committee Interest” form, or for more information.
