FACCC Statement on Governor’s Proposed 2016-17 Budget Revise
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Faculty Association of California Community Colleges has issued the following statement on Governor Brown’s proposed budget today:
“FACCC is appreciative of the Governor’s continued commitment to strengthening the California Community Colleges,” said FACCC Executive Director Jonathan Lightman. “FACCC is especially grateful to the Administration for their consideration on the needed increase in base funding for the community college system. Still, there are a number of substantial issues facing our colleges that must be addressed and FACCC looks forward to working with the Governor and Legislature in these areas as the budget process concludes.”
Founded in 1953, the Faculty Association of California Community Colleges was named “Best Political Voice for Community College Faculty in the State” by Sacramento News & Review. Representing over 11,000 members, it serves as the professional membership association for California Community College faculty across the state’s 72 districts and 113 colleges.
