Candidate Statement:

The only state-wide advocate devoted entirely to the issues which effect California Community College Faculty is FACCC. Without a strong voice speaking for faculty, the interests of student, and the community college system would be at risk. In these times of constant challenge, I am committed to the united efforts FACCC and our membership to maximize our working relationship with the legislators and state officials. I also stand ready to serve other local and allied statewide faculty organizations. I am convinced that together we make a difference to our students. As one FACCC Governor working in concert with the other Governors and FACCC Executive Leadership, I know I will be able to build these positive strengths to promote issues that are broadly important to student and faculty. My specific goals include:

  • Pursue STRS reforms, ensuring that gains we have made do not sunset
  • As a vocational education faculty member, I would promote strengthening career and technical education
  • Advocate for funding for full-time hires, parity in health insurance and office hours for part-time faculty
  • Continue building on our partnership with the state wide academic senate
