Candidate Statement:
FACCC role is important and powerful. The California Community Colleges are faced with substantial changes that will determine the future of the collegewide system in general and faculty rights, compensation, and environment in particular. Committed representation, participation, and engagement in Sacramento will provide a unified and powerful front for our collective voice. Serving the California Community College system for twenty years in different districts, I feel that I have a broad perspective of the needs of community colleges. I am committed to FACCC and I would be honored to serve as the FACCC Treaurer for the upcoming two year term.
For the past two years I have served on the FACCC Board of Governors and Executive Committee as the Secretary. I have been the liaison to the Board for PAC, the Professional Development Committee, the Communications Committee and the Awards and Scholarships Committee. I was the awards banquet MC at the 2006 FACCC Conference and am a presentation speaker at the Teaching and Learning Colloquium in March 2007.
