Faculty Association of California Community Colleges
Political Action Committee

What is FACCC PAC?
The only statewide political action committee exclusively representing community college faculty.

Mission
To elect candidates to the Legislature and state constitutional offices who promote FACCC’s values; to engage FACCC members in political action.

Why Political Action?
District resources and academic freedom are directly tied to decisions made in the State Capitol. Political action for candidate election, particularly in this era of term limits, can determine whether the Legislature will support or oppose community college faculty issues. Just as we’ve seen our legislative allies champion faculty priorities, we’ve also witnessed the disappearance of hard-fought gains through the actions of hostile policy makers.

We can help elect the best candidates for community college faculty. It takes your dedication, sophistication and funding to make this happen.FACCC relies upon the FACCC PAC to help elect candidates supportive of community college faculty.

Devoted to Action
FACCC PAC serves community college faculty year-round:
• Recruiting faculty for political office
• Interviewing candidates for the Assembly, State Senate and constitutional offices
• Mobilizing faculty for political action
• Raising money for campaigns
• Organizing telephone banks for endorsed candidates
• Sponsoring political speakers at FACCC conferences
• Attending candidate-sponsored election events
• Hosting political forums in conjunction with FACCC’s Lobby Day
• Sponsoring receptions at political conventions

Essential to Legislative Success
Politics and policy are connected.

A strong FACCC PAC enables FACCC to advocate such issues as:
• Preserving spending for faculty needs
• Securing a 75:25 ratio of full- to part-time faculty
• Achieving pay equity for part-time faculty
• Protecting academic freedom
• Enhancing CalSTRS benefits
• Ensuring integrity of categorical programs
