My rating of Gov. Schwarzenegger is...what's the lowest rating I can give? A "D" minus? He is showbiz and machismo covering over a dangerous political agenda. I resent having a governor who gropes women and thinks it's "rowdy" behavior. His economic policies are intentionally planned to ruin California's social programs as part of a conservative agenda. Why on earth are the Demos caving in to him? I trust that FACCC will not give this dangerous man one inch of ground.

So far his performance is Foolish (with a capital 'F'), not that that is unexpected. I totally disagree with removing the auto tax as I believe user taxes are perfectly valid. I totally disagree with denying undocumented workers drivers licenses. Just last week, Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge called for, on a national scale, these immigrants to recieve 'some sort of legal status short of citizenship'. This was a good first step in that direction. I am against the $15 billion bond issue and capping the State's budget - what happens in times of disaster when unexpected reources are necessary? Maybe the wealthy Schwarzenegger/Kennedys and their supportors don't need to use credit, but the rest of us often do.
There was one promising note I heard on the radio today but I did not get the full story, and that is that he will be looking at the high costs of administration of schools and education. I have long advocated for the combing of school districts to reduce administrative costs, among other adjustments.
But overall, I fear for education, our poor, our elderly, our environment, our needy, and decry the selfishness and racist attitudes that prevail in the minds of the politicians and the public.

Miserable . Sound bites. No plans. This isn't kindergarden cop. He hasn't a clue! made lots of promises but is not considering them. We got ourselves another Jesse Ventura.

His performance is very low in my opinion. He has only catered to his base,
refusing to require those who have benefitted from the economic boom of the
past to pay their fair share now.

Although it is still quite early in his administration, I am very impressed with Gov. Schwarzenegger's performance at this point. The state needs to create a positive business climate, to attract instead of repel business. When businesses leave, they take jobs and state income taxes with them. When state income tax revenues decline, all government services, including education, decline with them. This simple fact seems to elude most California politicians. It is my sincere desire this will change with the direction provided by Gov. Schwarzenegger.

The new governor: no different from any other politician: promises
squirmed out of.

Very poor.

An astute member of the faculty at Southwestern has renamed the governor
The Reniganator based on his threat to suspend Prop 98.
