FACCCTS Takes the GOLD in 2008 Hermes Creative Awards Competition

 

The Fall 07 issue of FACCCTS, featuring news and information "Celebrating the Stars of California's Community Colleges," has been awarded the Gold Award in this year's Hermes Creative Awards competition.

Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies, web based innovators and freelancers.

Hermes Creative Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The international organization consists of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production, web and free-lance professionals. The Association oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges and sets standards for excellence.

Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals began in 1995 as a means to honor outstanding achievement and service to the communication profession. As part of its mission, the Association fosters and supports the efforts of marketing and communication professionals who contribute their unique talents to public service and charitable organizations. Each year, the efforts of generous marketing and communication professionals are acknowledged through grants and special recognition. Hermes entrants are not charged entry fees for their pro bono entries.

There were over 4,000 entries from throughout the United States and several foreign countries in this year's competition.

The Gold Award is presented to those entries judged to exceed the high standards of the industry. Approximately 17 percent of the entries received this award. Approximately 10 percent were given Honorable Mention certificates, which were granted to those entries that meet the expectations of the judges. Of those, FACCC Communications Director Keri Goulart was a recipient of an Honorable Mention certificate, as well, for the Winter 2008 issue of FACCCTS which featured news and information covering "Proposition 92 in the Spotlight."

FACCCTS is a quarterly journal whose readers are comprised of community college instructors, counselors and librarians, as well as state legislators and other higher education leaders, including every college president, trustee and purchasing directors. FACCCTS offers news, analysis, essays, articles, and more - written and edited by your peers!
