Course Description


Retaining Minority Faculty in California’s Community Colleges

This session focuses on what community colleges need to do to retain minority (i.e., female, ethnic, and gay/lesbian) faculty. A definition and profile of minority faculty is given, followed by a discussion regarding the importance of retaining minority faculty. The unique challenges that minority faculty face and recommendations to retain minority faculty is discussed. The session concludes with exchanging personal experiences and brainstorming additional recommendations that participants may take with them to their respective campuses.
