Membership and External Affairs Specialist Mikala Hutchinson joined FACCC in January 2026 as the Membership and External Affairs Specialist. A proud community college graduate, Mikala attended MiraCosta College in San Diego, completing degrees in Political Science and Sociology. She is currently finishing her undergraduate studies at UC San Diego, majoring in Sociology with a concentration in Law and Policy. Before joining FACCC, Mikala served as the Legislative Specialist for the Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC), where she championed student advocacy and worked on successful legislation focused on expanding basic needs services, ensuring safer learning environments for all students, and increasing access to financial aid. A Southern California native, Mikala enjoys calling San Diego home and looks forward to supporting and expanding FACCC’s work on behalf of faculty statewide. In her free time, Mikala enjoys cooking for her family, collecting Pokémon cards, and traveling to new places. Contact Mikala: |
