Governor for Contract Faculty Crystal is an Anthropology instructor and union leader serving California’s community college system. She teaches at Long Beach City College, Mt. San Antonio College, Cerritos College, Crafton Hills College, Citrus College, and Los Angeles Harbor College. Crystal currently serves as an associate senator, Curriculum committee member, and as union President for the Certificated Hourly Instructors (CHI) at Long Beach City College, providing transparent, collaborative leadership and advocating for improved working conditions, equity, and professional recognition for part-time faculty. At the statewide level, Crystal serves as Director I with the California Community College Association (CCA) in addition to serving as a Governor for Faculty Association for California Community Colleges (FACCC), working with faculty leaders across California to build collective power, strengthen shared governance, and advance equitable policies throughout the community college system. When she is not teaching, Crystal enjoys going to concerts, traveling, and trying new food with her husband (who teaches culinary). She’s a dedicated pawrent of a little Frenchie named Brie. |
