As the statewide professional membership association for the California Community Colleges, FACCC receives its strength through the power of the faculty who join. FACCC has provided focused representation for community college faculty to promote funding, academic freedom, and retirement benefits for nearly 70 years. Over 9,000 community college faculty have joined FACCC to increase their political voice in State Government.

With members at all campuses across California, FACCC continues to strengthen the position of faculty in the State Capitol, the State Chancellor’s Office, and the State Teachers’ Retirement System.

The FACCC Board, consisting of community college faculty leaders from across the state, is dedicated to representing the interests of all community college faculty and advocating to support its students. The organization is guided in its work by the following values:

  • We value the expertise, experience, and professionalism of all faculty, full-time and part-time, as the primary force for advancing the mission of California Community Colleges.
  • We value students and the significance of the student-faculty relationship and the opportunity to foster mutual growth and success.
  • We value diverse voices, perspectives, and cultures of both students and faculty in the quest for social justice and equity.
  • We value community colleges as a driving force for economic growth, social cohesion, and opportunities for personal advancement for all Californians.
  • We value collegiality and a working environment that recognizes the importance of all organizational and personal voices in serving students.
