Leslie is part of the full-time Math faculty at Mendocino College, where she first started her college journey as a student. As a community college graduate herself, she understands the importance of having higher ed institutions in our local communities and has personally experienced the life-changing opportunities that our community colleges provide. Leslie serves as the President of her local union and got involved with FACCC when she encouraged her local to become a contract district. She serves on the Board as a contract Governor for her union. Leslie’s professional interests include ethnomathematics, writing in math class, mentoring, and advocacy. Her personal interests include spending time with her family (which includes 6 grandchildren), trail walks, gardening, and life-long learning (she is currently pursuing a degree in Ethnic Studies). |
